This paper reports a study of the irrigation component of the Anuradhapura Dry Zone Agricultural Project (ADZAP) conducted jointly by the staff of the International Irrigation Management Institute and the Department of Agrarian Services. The focus of ADZAP has been to provide a viable farming system through careful development of local resources. This report deals in particular with the irrigation component of ADZAP which constitutes the greatest component cost and the dominant focus of the project.
