The view that hunger has always been with us and cannot be countered is false. Hunger has been reduced across the world. The question is not whether change is possible, but how it can be accelerated and lessons learnt from countries that have an impressive record in reducing hunger. The central plank of this publication is the pledge- an agenda of six key points for action, which were discussed at the Parliamentarians’ Forum on Hunger and Inequality in February 2009.
