The Asia Ministerial conference is the first ministerial-level meeting on governance in Asia organized by the United Nations Development Programme. The conference was divided into two segments: a Senior Officials Meeting and a Ministerial Conference. The four-fold objective of the conference was to provide Asian policy-makers with a forum to share and analyse governance experiences, to discuss best practices in governance, to define areas for future regional cooperation and to consolidate the conclusions of the conference in the form of a Joint Declaration/Statement on governance.
