The book deals with several key areas that have been the subject of particularly intensive debate regarding the renewal of GSP+ for Sri Lanka including an assessment of the economic impact of GSP+ on Sri Lanka in the backdrop of the objectives of the scheme and discussion of issues relating to the GSP+ requirement of ‘ratification and full implementation’ of the ICCPR within Sri Lanka from a legal and constitutional perspective. This publication contributes to the debate concerning the European Unions GSP+ preferential tariff scheme, in the wake of the formal process for the renewal of Sri Lanka’s status as a beneficiary country.
