This review looks at the available literature on the impact of socio-economic status of the household on primary school achievement, with the objective of identifying potential relationships for further study as well as gaps in knowledge, which may be filled through the proposed study. It must be emphasized that the focus of this study, and therefore the review, is on the impact of socio-economic status on educational achievement, rather than the opposite.
