This is a draft copy of a study that was undertaken to identify the impact of poverty alleviation projects on the social integration of plantation workers in Sri Lanka. The studywas carried out by examining the case of governmental housing schemes in the country. This volume contains an introduction to the study, an outline of the research methodology used, an evaluation of housing schemes as poverty alleviation projects, an exploration of the issues of social integration, various case studies and recommendations for further research.
