This booklet has been developed as a reference guide for Estate Superintendents, to provide them with some technical guidelines they would need pertaining to maternal and child health and family planning programmes being implemented on the estates. The publication will enable them to further improve coordination and monitoring, and be able to discuss issues relating to the effective implementation of relevant health programmes with estate health and welfare staff. This booklet is not meant to encompass all the health and social development interventions carried out on estates, but attempts to focus on a few important programmes related to maternal and child health.
