Migration is a major challenge to governance and policy-makers across the globe, and policy initiatives over the years have been inadequate to meet the needs of these extensive demographic transformations.  It is evident that migrant workers face various discrimination, and are at a greater disadvantage in comparison to non-migrants in countless ways. Numerous reports highlight about inadequacy of wages, poor and unsafe working environments, squalid living conditions, and heavy burden of work due to statuses as migrant workers. In addition, denied access to social security measures, subjected to harassment, violence and discrimination are issues faced by migrant workers. This publication analyses poverty, vulnerability and inequality through the lens of migration. It aims to unveil how these factors induce migration and inter-linked to create a vicious cycle.
