This trilingual publication (English Sinhala and Tamil) highlights some of the key achievements and progress that Sri Lanka has made in reaching the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Sri Lanka signed the Millennium Declaration, along with 188 countries in 2000, which committed nations to a global partnership that would work towards reducing extreme poverty. It also set out a series of targets that with a deadline for 2015. Those targets are knows as the MDGs.
