CEPA looks at the different approaches used to define measure and monitor poverty, both monetary and non-monetary. The brief examines the methods used in Sri Lanka and discusses the methods of measuring poverty in Sri Lanka at national, district, provincial and sectoral levels. The brief also looks at factors such as education, health, living conditions and gender development that have a bearing on the poverty levels of different socio economic groups.
