Seevalipura is located in the GS Division of Jayanthiwewa in the District of Trincomalee. The main resource of this village is the 69 acre Diyatittawewa which is hardly used as a result of non-use and negligence. There are 138 families living in this village with a village tank and irrigation system, roads, bridges and the culverts are in place, but due to non-maintenance all these systems are in a dilapidated condition. Since there is no cooperative stores, villagers buy their goods from private boutiques and their main source of livelihood is agriculture. In addition, the total living standard of the village is very low. The outcome of the participatory needs assessment exercise was to identify the main needs of the village by the villagers themselves and presenting solutions to the problems. The report suggests the renovation to Diyatitta-wewa as agriculture is the main source of livelihood while paddy is the main cultivation. The report also recommends the construction of a bridge across the wewa.
