This book is a comprehensive study of NGOs in Sri Lanka and their activities. The study reviews NGOs and individuals who are recipients of foreign funds, their activities of both positive and negative. The role that NGOs played in Sri Lanka from the 1980s during the height of the insurrection and then the separatist war, contribute to the debate which is questioning the role of foreign funded NGOs. The author analyses four areas focusing Social development, Human rights, International relations and Academia and describes the role of the foreign funded NGOs in all four of them. With these studies, the author reiterates the basic premise that the work of the foreign funded NGOs undermines local civil institutions and they project an implicit agenda for recolonisation.
