The result of a public symposium in Oxford in 1991, entitled ‘Responding to the Nutrition Crisis among Refugees; the Need for New Approaches’ this book, while acknowledging the causes contributing to the refugee status of a sizeable segment of the human population attempts to ensure that victims receive adequate sustenance. Acknowledging that the problem of refugees is one that is a consequence of huge historical forces such as war, expulsion, famine, ecological degradation, fear of oppression, grossly inequitable economic systems and accepting that there will always be some refugee tide, the book attempts to provide an agenda for specific and speedy action.
