This book, published following a sociological study carried out by the author, describes his experiences with a beggar community, with whom he lived, as one of them, for 160 days. The facts of life of these beggars, in all their tragic reality, have been emphasized in this book. His findings can, therefore, be taken as a true description of the way of life of the beggars, where beggars are controlled by bosses or chiefs in the various areas. These bosses are not, themselves, beggars, but are under world characters who hire beggars for a commission.
