This book demonstrates how transborder migrations from Bangladesh to India have had the effect of marginalising the construct of the nation-state. It demystifies the concepts of borders, and national identity, by bringing to the fore the viewpoints of the migrants themselves. The author highlights how the flow of people across the border is prompted by historical and social affinities, geographical contiguity and issues of economic survival. All these lead to marginalise the nation, in the consciousness of the people who have very little use for postcolonial borders.
