The objective of this series of studies is to assess the manner in which children’s rights are observed in Sri Lankan society. This volume focuses on a study carried out in a village in the Galle district in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka that examines rising level of child prostitution on the coastal belt of Sri Lanka, with respect to the tourist industry. This discussion intends to bring this issue to light by highlighting the socio-economic factors may have influenced this type of tourism found along the South Western coastal belt.
