This book pursues the dimensions of violence against women in politics. It explores issues pertaining the structural forms of violence that affect women at various levels of South Asian society. This study has tried to follow the reality of the suffering of women in the journeys to achieve careers in politics, and the patriarchal mindset that has hindered the actions of women in their attempts to serve society. Continued violence from their homes to society to the political party has further discouraged women from entering the political arena. This study was conducted under the Violence Against Women In Politics (VAWIP), an initiative taken by the South Asia Partnership International, and is supposed to be a milestone in the initiatives of combatting violence against women in politics.
