This research and pilot intervention project was designed to identify and change attitudes and behaviours that can lead to AIDs and STD’s and other negative outcomes of sexual activity and to strengthen behaviours that carry little or no risks or can protect young people. This project builds on earlier research conducted in Mauritius, which show that sexuality and risky behaviours must be examined within the context of society, communities, familiesand peer relationships, if innovative approaches to the prevention of HIV/AIDS are to be found.
