The study carried out by the Centre for Poverty Analysis (CEPA) on Poverty and Youth Survey (PYS) highlights on the youth,s views on poverty and poverty related issues have been presented in this report. The report sets out the context by discussing the youth in different spheres such as education, development, politics and conflict. It goes on to describe the youth,s perspectives regarding their own lives and the lives of others in terms of poverty, social mobility and development. Their views on education and employment and on politics and war are also discussed. The report refers to statistics and survey questions to analyse and discuss youths, views. The report compares the findings and based on these comparisons, it makes suggestions about policies. The report presents interesting findings about the youth being optimistic about their ability to do better than their parents and the differences in the views of the youth from conflict areas to the youth in non-conflict areas. The report gives the reader an in-depth understanding of the youth in Sri Lanka.
