This volume consists of collection of papers of a workshop organised by Duryog Nivaran in November 1995. Duryog Nivaran is a South Asian network of individuals and organisations concerned with large scale disruptions in society either due to natural disasters or conflicts. Its overall objective is to promote an alternative perspective on these phenomena. The papers highlight participatory issues in conflict situations, issues on sustainable development and provide valuable recommendations.
