This study assesses the performance of the Asian Development Bank assistance in policy reform in the Sri Lankan domestic agricultural sector and agriculture-related areas in the natural resource sector. The study assessed policies during the period 1996 to 2006 focusing on the major policy thrusts of the Government in the domestic agriculture sector, proceeding to understand the ADB involvement with these policies. The study then goes on to examine the impact of policy on the performance of the agricultural sector, the impact on poverty and the sector?s constraints in sustaining ADB-supported polices.

මෙම අධ්‍යනය, සේපා ආයතනයේ පර්යේෂණ පත්‍රිකා මාලාවෙහි 15 වැන්නයි. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ දේශීය කෘෂිකාර්මික අංශය සහ ස්වාභාවික සම්පත් අංශයෙහි කෘෂිකර්මය සම්බන්ධ අංශවල ප්‍රතිපත්ති ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණයෙහිදී ආසියානු සංවර්ධන බැංකුවෙහි සහායේ ක්‍රියාත්මකභාවය ඇගයීම මින් සිදු වේ.  දේශීය කෘෂිකාර්මික අංශය තුළ රජයේ ප්‍රධාන ප්‍රතිපත්ති බලෙන් තල්ලූ කිරීම පිළිබඳ අවධානය යොමු කළ 1996-2006 කාලච්ජේදය තුළ වූ ප්‍රතිපත්තීන් සහ එම ප්‍රතිපත්තීන් සමග ADB මැදිහත්වීම අවබෝධ කර ගැනීම සඳහා වන ක්‍රියාවන් යනාදිය ඇගයේ. කෘෂිකාර්මික අංශයෙහි ක්‍රියාකාරිත්වය පිළිබඳව වන ප්‍රතිපත්තීන්වල පැවැත්මට එම අංශයෙහි ඇති බාධාවන් යනාදිය ඇගයීමට මෙම අධ්‍යනය යොමු වේ.
