The study is implemented with the objective of assessing the state of fresh water resources in the basin. The report is structured in a way that it describes the use of water, pressures and driving forces resulting from such uses, state of the resource and the responses. It analyses in depth, considering the Walawe river basin, the water related issues and the related impacts on its social and physical environment.
