This issue of Eco-Sri Lanka contains a small collection of papers by individuals who are highly knowledgeable in their fields of specialisation. The theme paper by Ranjith Galapaththi provides an overview of the problem of the tsunami. Other papers cover different aspects of it, including the impacts on coastal ecosystems and fisheries. The paper by Ranaviraja deals more with policy aspects and focuses on the creation of a green belt along the coast line.
