This report is based on the socio-economic survey conducted on the ten villages chosen for the first round of the �Gama Neguma� Rural Development Project. The survey aimed to monitor the impact of the project looking at socio-economic to estimate the long term impacts and expected results and the infrastructure facilities and other services and agricultural technology etc. to measure the short term impacts. The survey was conducted on 181 households, and also included interviews with key informants and focus group discussions. This particular report pertains to the Wattegedara village in the Kegalle District. It includes an introduction to the study and the Gama Neguma Project, the demographic details of the village and other economic, socio-economic and organizational details.
“ගමනැගුම” ග්රාමීය සංවර්ධන ව්යාපෘතියේ පළමු වටය සඳහා තෝරා ගන්නා ලද ගම්මාන දහයක් පිළිබඳ සිදුකරන ලද සමාජ-ආර්ථික සමීක්ෂණය මත මෙම වාර්තාව පදනම් වේ. සමාජ ආර්ථිකය දෙස බැලූ කල ව්යාපෘතියේ බලපෑම අධීක්ෂණය, දිගු කාලීන බලපෑම් සහ අපේක්ෂිත ප්රතිඵල, යටිතල පහසුකම් හා අනෙකුත් සේවාවන් මෙන්ම කෘෂිකාර්මික තාක්ෂණය යනාදිය ඇස්තමේන්තු කිරිමට සහ කෙටිකාලීන බලපෑම් මැනීම සමීක්ෂණය මගින් අරමුණු කොට ඇත. සමීක්ෂණය මගින් ව්යාපෘතිය විසින් ඇති කළ බලපෑම් අධීක්ෂණය කෙරෙන අතර මෙහිදී සමාජ ආර්ථික අංශය කෙරෙහි අවධානය යොමු කරමින් ව්යාපෘතිය මගින් ඇතිකළ දිගු කාලීන බලපෑම්, අපේක්ෂිත ප්රතිඵල, යටිතල පහසුකම්, අනෙකුත් සේවාවන් හා කෘෂිකාර්මික තාක්ෂණය ආදිය තක්සෙරු කරයි. මෙම සමීක්ෂණය නිවාස 181ක් යොදා ගනිමින් සිදුකෙරුණු අතර ප්රධාන තොරතුරු සපයන්නන් සමග සිදුකෙරෙන සම්මුඛ සාකච්ඡා මෙන්ම ඉලක්ක කණ්ඩායම් සාකච්ඡාද ඊට ඇතුළත්විය. මෙම වාර්තාව කෑගල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කයේ වත්තේගෙදර ගම සඳහාඅදාළවේ. අධ්යයනය සහ ගමනැගුම ව්යාපෘතිය පිළිබඳ හැඳින්වීමක්, ගමෙහි ජනගහණ තොරතුරු සහ අනෙකුත් ආර්ථික, සමාජ ආර්ථික සහ සංවිධාන තොරතුරු මීට ඇතුළත් වේ.
