Human rights impact of post tsunami policies: Report on pilot study in Ampara and Galle districts.
by Human Rights Commission Sri Lanka

This report is based principally on the information compiled through the field surveys conducted by the Sub-Group and the field researchers. In addition, the report also draws on the data collected by The Report on People’s consultations on Post Tsunami Relief, Reconstructions and Rehabilitations in Sri Lanka, July-September 2005, information disseminated by the DRMU Working group, as well as the Sub-Group members’ own first-hand knowledge drawn from field research conducted in their respective institutional or personal capacities. This report focuses on those core human rights issues which were highlighted by the field surveys and other available district wise data, and to which many of the other relevant human rights issues relate.
