The Participatory Learning and Action Program (PLA) is a component of the Food Security and Conflict Transformation (FSCT) project based in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. Taking inspiration from similar programs in Nepal, the project has focused upon the needs of women within war and cyclone affected areas, in particular seeking to strengthen the self help capacity of poor women and to improve their self confidence as well as income and to help people to find a voice in their communities. The objective of the study is to prolonged: to analyze the impact of PLA and WRDS in the communities and to document the lessoned learned and propose a follow up program.
