This document deals with different facets of conflict, migration and change at the local level in the South. The studies are product of empirical research informed by theoretical perspectives, which share certain premises but differ in some other respect, and carried out in five different countries: Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Sudan, Angola and Mozambique. This covers two main situations of displacement that in some cases are interlinked: one stems of violent conflicts and the other from environmental disasters.
