The important role of the small and micro-enterprise sector in terms of its contribution to employment creation, income generation, technology transfer, economic growth and rural development is well recognised by many developing countries and a range of programmes have been undertaken. The purpose of the workshop is to examine and analysis various strategies and approaches introduced by the member countries for micro-enterprise promotion and to share lessons of experience from other South Asian Countries. The workshop agenda and content are drawn up with expertise from member countries training/research institutions, regional and international organisations and the private sector.

සුළු ව්‍යාපාර අංශය තුළින් රැකියා උත්පාදනයට දායකවීම ආදායම් උත්පාදනය තාක්ෂණ හුවමාරුව ආර්ථික සංවර්ධනය සහ ග්‍රාමීය සංවර්ධනය උදෙසා සිදු කර ඇති දායකත්වය සහ එහි වටිනාකම සංවර්ධනය වෙමින් පවත්නා බොහෝ රටවල් විසින් මහා ලෙස අවබෝධ කරගෙන ඒ අනුව විවිධ වැඩසටහන් ක්‍රියාත්මක කර ඇත. ඒ අනුව පවත්වන ලද වැඩමුළුවක අරමුණ වශයෙන් සඳහන් කර ඇත්තේ විශේෂයෙන්ම දකුණු ආසියානු කලාපීය රටවල් විසින් සුළු ව්‍යාපාර ප්‍රවර්ධනය සඳහා හදුන්වා දී ඇති උපාය මාර්ග, ප්‍රවේශයන් සහ වැඩසටහන් විශ්ලේෂණය කර ඒවායින් ලද අත්දැකීම් හා ඉගෙනගත් පාඩම් පිළිබඳව තොරතුරු ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමෙනි. ඒ අනුව වැඩමුළුවට සහභාගීවූ රටවල විශ්ලේෂකයින්ගේ අත්දැකීම් පදනම් කරගෙන එහි න්‍යාය පත්‍රය සකස් කර ඇත.
