Nucleus Entrepreneur Exchange (NEE) was conceptualised by the Nucleus Foundation (NF) and implemented with the support of GTZ (German Development Cooperation) Facilitating Local Initiatives for Conflict Transformation Project (FLICT). The project aspired to promote peace building through initiating and fostering business and social linkages between entrepreneurs from different ethinic groups in the Ampara District of Sri Lanka. In the initial period of the project, the country was experiencing intense military activity, while from May 2009 onwards it has been a state of relative stability with no open warfare. Although it was a pilot initiative in one district of Sri Lanka with relatively small group of medium entrepreneurs, the lessons learnt could serve as valuable peace building with enterprise promotion.
