This report aims to bring together in a single source, comprehensive information on the main aspects of paddy cultivation over four decades from 1952 to 1996. The paddy statistics presented here consists of sown extent, harvested extent, yield and production. Data for the compilation of these statistics are drawn from two main sources, namely complete enumeration of parcels and the bi-annual crop cutting survey both conducted by DCS

ජනලේඛන හා සංඛ්‍යාලේඛන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින්

 

මෙම වාර්තාව 1952 සිට 1996 දක්වා දශක හතරකටත් වැඩි කාලයක වී ගොවිතැනේ ප්‍රධාන පැතිකඩයන් පිළිබඳව සවිස්තර තොරතුරු එක් මූලාශ්‍රයකට ගෙන ඒමට අරමුණු කර ඇත. මෙහිදී වී සංඛ්‍යාන වාර්තාවේ ඉදිරිපත් කරන කරුණු අතර වී වපුරන ලද ප්‍රමාණය, නෙළාගත් අස්වැන්නේ ප්‍රමාණය, අස්වැන්න සහ නිෂ්පාදනය වැනි දත්ත ඇතුළත් වේ. මේ සඳහා දත්ත සම්පාදනයේ දී මෙම සංඛ්‍යාන දත්ත උපුටාගෙන ඇත්තේ ප්‍රධාන මුලාශ්‍ර දෙකකිනි. එම සමීක්ෂණ දෙක නම් කොටස්වල සම්පුර්ණ ගණනය කිරීම සහ අර්ධ වාර්ෂික අස්වැන්න නෙළාගැනීමේ සමීක්ෂණය යන මෙම සමීක්ෂණ දෙකම පවත්වා ඇත්තේ ජනලේඛන හා සංඛ්‍යාලේඛන දේපාර්තමේන්තුව විසිනි.
