by Kodikara, C.

This study on women’s peace building initiative in Sri Lanka was undertaken in January 2008 on behalf of Women Defining Peace (WDP). This is a five-year project initiated in 2007, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). This report provide an introduction to the concept of ‘civil society peace-building’ and develop a framework to understand and analyse women’s peace building initiatives in Sri Lanka based on the findings of the consultations. On the basis of the framework developed, it also identifies four potential areas of support for the Women and Peace Fund of WDP.
