Penkalin Nilam: A study on women’s land rights in the post-tsunami resettlement process in Baticaloa
by Maunaguru, S. & Emmanuel, S.

This report documents the experiences of women in relation to their land rights. Women’s ability to challenge gender inequalities within the home and the community is greatly enhanced with equality to land rights. Moreover, land becomes an integral component of women’s dignity and freedom. This document traces the history of attempts made to reform land legislations and also raises important consequences of gender discrimination in the context of post tsunami land allocation.
