The National Institute of Education (NIE) initiated a series of lectures to commemorate the contributions made by Dr. C.W.W.W.Kannangara, one of the chief architects of the social development programme of the mid-twentieth century in Sri Lanka. This publication consists of twelve lectures delivered by most eminent scholars worked/working in divers contexts. In addition these lectures deal with important contemporary issues in the field of education.
