The rapid gap analysis of energy and poverty is undertaken to evolve methods of developing accesses to sustainable energy scenarios to reduce poverty in the region. The main thematic areas of access to energy services, efficient use and financing sustainable energy development are analyzed under three service lines of policy mapping and advocacy, capacity development and knowledge management. The expanded framework that used in the study contain eight key variables namely institutional arrangement, programme framework, technology efficiency and fuel options, access to energy services, energy-based entrepreneurship, access to finance, monitoring & evaluation and access to information.
