Poverty among Sri Lanka's plantation sector workers has been difficult to address, mainly because of the unique nature of the sector. 'The Estate Workers' Dilemma: Tensions and Changes in the Tea and Rubber' is a comprehensive study that uses qualitative methods to understand the nature and drivers of poverty in the estates. It has important insights for the industry, for policy makers, and for civil society organizations working with the estate workers.
