This paper explores the potential for reconciliation between Sri Lanka Diaspora communities, particularly the Sinhalese and Tamils, and the present initiatives of the Tamil Information Centre (TIC). It first traces the post colonial development in the restructuring of the state, the pattern and status of Tamil migration, and the constituency of the Diaspora, particularly in the UK. Issues of post war context within the Diaspora and the realignment of forces and the emergency of new political organisations are also discussed in this publication. Finally it explores the activities of the TIC, the initiatives of a Diaspora forum, their attempts to generate discussions and to reach out to Sinhala and Muslim communities, the challenges faced by them and the potential for future activity.
