This document deals with possible impacts of climate change on development of urban areas and human settlements in both urban and rural areas. The future national development plans provide for high urban growth through establishment of metro-regions and metro-cities in the development agenda. National development and economic advancement would depend on whether these initiatives are viable and sustainable in the long term. As climate change is expected to affect many aspect of human well-being, application of adaptation measures would be necessary to contract the challenges brought about by climate change.
